This is motivated by the DC nature of most Telecom appliances, and also the DC output of many renewable technologies. With the advances in power electronics technologies, the monthly powerconsumption of a Telecom site can be greatly reduced, and as a result, system costs associated with the acquisition of a renewable system can be reduced by increasing the efficiency of each individualdevice through the use of a DC supply. Furthermore, completely operating a Telecom site fromrenewable sources dramatically reduces CO2 emissions from the Telecom sector.DC power generated from on-site sources that directly support DC loads can dramatically improveenergy efficiency, reduce energy costs and reduce environmental impact. The option of Hybridcharging, i.e. charge from Grid or Solar as per availability significantly increases availability to 24 x 7in cost effective manner.
